A few nautical miles south of the tough professional racing in the X-41 and X-35 one design classes a friendly – but no less keen competition - is a part of the same regatta.

A day and a night of hard exercising and dieting did not help the Italian crew of the X-41 WB Five owned and sailed by Gianclaudio Bassetti, with the famous TP52 sailor and sail maker Alessio Razeto as tactician.

Typical Danish summer weather with sun, showers and 15 knots of very chancing winds dominated the first day of the 11th X-Yacht Gold Cup. The two one-design classes X-35 and X-41 sailed three races on an up and down course, while the two so-called Sports Classes and the Family Class had two races each.


A brand new boat design – only 17 months old – is gathering today as a boat class for the first time with 33 yachts to sail The International Championship for X-41 in Copenhagen.


X-Yachts celebrates its 30-year anniversary next year by building their first 100% cruising boat ever. Xc 45 is presented to the public for the first time today at X-Yachts Gold Cup in Copenhagen.


Next Wednesday the 11th July X-Yachts Gold Cup starts in Copenhagen with 120 yachts and more than 1,300 participants.
