The first X-41 to land in the UK
This Sunday marks the start of the main Solent yachting season with the first race of the Warsash Sailing Club’s Spring Series. Six Sundays make up the series on 11th, 18th, 25th March and 1st April, a break for Easter and then a further two race days the 15th and 22nd April.
The first X-41 to land in the UK "Legally Brunette" has entered, this boat is for an Irish owner who has loaned her to X-Yachts (GB) for the Spring Series and Red Funnel. Jochem Visser and members of X-Yachts (GB) head up a strong team, which on Sunday includes designer and co-owner of X-Yachts Denmark Niels Jeppesen. Time has been against the team however with the boat only arriving on Wednesday and the mast being stepped yesterday. The boat has a full suit of North 3DL sails, the design of which is an evolution on prototype sails used for testing hull number 1 during December and January in Denmark. After the series, "Legally Brunette" will be off to Ireland where her new owner will campaign her.
